What's a stem?

A stem is an inidividual recorded track that makes up the recording of a song i.e. a recording of just the guitar or the vocals.

I don't have the separate stems, just the final mix recording. Can you still remix it?

Yes. Many tracks are remixed at Dachaigh Media just based on the final mix. Some of even got into the UK top 30. Just drop us a line and we will see what we can do.

How should I send my tracks to you?

A CD or DVD of your source files. Just in case there is a problem in posting, it's a good idea to send a back-up as well. Please ensure that you send your source files in the highest resolution you can provide with the highest rate you recorded at. Alternatively you can send your source files via FTP, see below.

Can I send my files electronically to you?

Many of the projects we master are uploaded to our FTP server. It's quick, easy and in most cases FREE! Just let us know if you're interested in that option and we'll provide you with an URL and a username and password, for you to use to send your files to us.

What's an ISRC?

It stands for International Standard Recording Code, and it's a 'digital fingerprint' that's permanently encoded onto a CD. It's used to identify a musical piece for royalty collection and rights administration. To find out more and to apply for your own ISRCs visit www.riaa.com (USA), www.ppluk.com (UK). Please note that it's not a necessity to have ISRCs encoded on your final master. It's up to you.
